Luna is an Australian aroma variety bred by Hop Products Australia, a cross of Liberty and a high-alpha Australian hop.
In beer it gives mango and passion fruit, blackberry and blackcurrant, plus orange and grapefruit. A high polyphenol content rounds out the mouthfeel. The profile is balanced, so it combines easily with other varieties in late additions and dry hopping.
Use it in the whirlpool and for dry hopping; with its higher alpha it also works in the first hop addition. Styles per HPA: Lager, Pilsner, XPA, Pale Ale and IPA.
