NZ Cascade (Taiheke) Amplifire™ hops (New Zealand)
Product detailed description
NZ Cascade (Taiheke)
A New Zealand–grown adaptation of the classic American Cascade, shaped by the country’s unique terroir. While it keeps the familiar citrus and floral character, NZ Cascade offers a brighter tropical twist – passionfruit, papaya, sweet grapefruit, and melon. Compared to its American parent, it’s smoother, fruitier, and less piney, with a balanced bitterness.

The Amplifire process separates whole hop cones into lupulin and plant material at extremely low temperatures in a nitrogen-rich, oxygen-poor environment, which limits oxidation and enhances quality. The lupulin, which contains sought-after resins (bitterness) and oils (flavor and aroma), is then pelletized, resulting in a super strong product - up to twice the intensity of resins and oils compared to T-90 hop pellets.
A Brewer’s Guide to Using Amplifire™ Concentrated Hop Pellets
You can use Amplifire™ pellets anywhere you normally use whole hop cones or T-90 pellets:
- For late addition to the brew kettle for better retention of volatile aromas
- In the whirlpool
- During fermentation
- For cold hopping after fermentation
If you are creating a new recipe, Amplifire™ pellets can replace 40-50% of the weight of T-90 hop pellets.
Amplifire™ pellets work great with T-90 pellets, adding a strong hop character, nice body, and full mouthfeel to the beer.
