White Labs California Yeast
Product detailed description
WLP001 California Ale Yeast is the first strain White Labs brought to market, in San Diego in 1995: and to this day one of the most widely used Ale strains.
It ferments cleanly and reliably and lets the hops stand out, which makes it the first choice for hop-forward beers.
Attenuation is above average and beers finish dry; flocculation is medium, the profile clean and fresh. With an adequate pitching rate it quickly reabsorbs diacetyl and handles high-gravity beers as well.
A versatile strain for almost any Ale: from IPA through Porter to Kölsch. We offer it in dry form.
