Cryo Fresh™ begins in the hop field with freshly harvested, undried cones. These are immediately frozen, locking in their delicate aroma and preserving the integrity of the lupulin glands. The whole, freshly frozen cones are then processed using a patented cryogenic process that isolates the concentrated lupulin and preserves the essential hop oils in a frozen, nitrogen-enriched, low-oxidation environment. The result is Cryo Fresh™ pellets.

Cryo Fresh™ can be used at any stage of the process, including the cold side, where the use of whole fresh cones is difficult. To maximize the character of fresh hops, Yakima Chief recommends using them during active or post-fermentation dry hopping.

Storage temperature: –18 °C to –10 °C for 3 years; at –10 °C to 2 °C, use within 48 hours.
