Britesorb BK 75 is a silica gel beer stabiliser: a silicic acid hydrogel.
It irreversibly binds the proteins behind chill haze, extending the shelf life of the beer in a clear state. It does not remove foam-positive proteins, and it leaves the beer's flavour, colour, extract, alcohol, attenuation, pH and bitterness unchanged.
It reacts within a few minutes, and a longer contact time does no harm.
Dosage: 70–100 g/hl as a suspension of up to 18%: into the tank, or in-line before the filter; when filtering with diatomaceous earth, it is blended into the second precoat, at roughly 50–100 g/m² of filter area.
