Crisp Flaked Torrefied Oats are oat flakes from torrefied oats with the husk on — the starch is gelatinised, so they go straight into the mash.

They give beer a smooth, creamy mouthfeel; the husk also helps with lautering, especially in grists with hulless ingredients.

Makes up to 25% of the grist. A classic of Oatmeal Stouts, great in NEIPA too.
